Moving Images: A partnership between DIFF, Art Dubai and Sharjah Art Foundation
Three of the region's key cultural events join forces
The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), the Sharjah Art Foundation and Art Dubai have formed an exciting new partnership – 'Moving Images' – to explore the shared space between art and cinema.
Bringing together three of the region's leading cultural platforms, a long-term initiative has formed that includes screenings and talks, as well as the sharing of expertise and ideas.

Moving Images begins with a discussion on Monday December 9, as part of the Dubai Film Market's discussion programme, involving speakers from across the worlds of art and film.
The partnership will continue throughout the year, however, with screenings in Dubai and Sharjah, and with specially curated programmes at the Sharjah Art Foundation and Art Dubai in March 2014, and aims to provide a greater understanding of artists' films; and support artists and filmmakers from the Arab world through new opportunities. Furthermore, the idea is that the debate of existing and future models for funding and distribution through the UAE and beyond can be explored.
"As the importance of film as a medium for artistic expression continues to grow, it is critical that artists are able to find support at all stages in the process from the early research and development of an idea through to the realisation and release of the final work to an audience," stated President and Director of Sharjah Art Foundation, Sheikha Hoor Al-Qasimi.
