Michelle Obama and Malala Yousafzai join the #BringBackOurGirls movement

United in support of the harrowing campaign

"Our prayers are with the missing Nigerian girls and their families. It's time to #BringBackOurGirls" tweets the First Lady of the United States, in the appeal to find almost 300 missing Nigerian schoolgirls

Following on from The Times newspaper in England covering the story today with its front page including political activist Malala Yousafzai carrying the same message, a tweet from Michelle Obama that is signed "-mo," (meaning that the First Lady penned the message herself), has joined the campaign.

The hashtag has become a rallying cry for women and men fighting for the release of nearly 300 girls captured by Boko Haram, a terrorist organisation in Nigeria.

It has been 23 days since the girls first went missing, the hashtag has been shared over a million times calling for something to be done. 

Michelle Obama joins the BRINGBACKOURGIRLS campaign

Many prominent politicians – from Hillary Clinton to Michelle Bachman – as well as numerous celebrities have joined the movement.
