Keira Knightly to make Broadway debut next year
Knightley will take the lead role – Thérèse Raquin – and portray a woman trapped in an unhappy marriage with her first cousin Camille, and explore the breakdown of her life into murder, madness and suicide.
The book was first adapted for the stage shortly after it was released in 1867, and has since been portrayed on the big and small screen many times – most recently for the film In Secret, which stars Elizabeth Olsen.
This isn't the first time that Knightley will take the stage, she previously starred in The Misanthrope and The Children's Hour in London. Her leading men are yet to be confirmed, but the venue has been revealed as The Roundabout Theatre Company in New York, and the show will open in October 2015.
