Leaked email reveals plans for a Kanye West feature film

More leaked documents from Sony

Following the scandalous leak of sensitive emails from Sony Pictures by hackers last month, comes a new revelation involving Kanye West. An email has emerged from his creative assistant, Elon Rutberg, to the studio, which pads out the ground work for a feature length film pitch.

The email dated August 4, touches on the exciting possibility of an ‘immersive’ film from West who has already announced a concert film release for his recent Yeezus tour. Here is a look at part of Rutberg’s vague email:

"I supervise all of Kanye’s film and media projects, and we have a major film project coming up that involves both cinematic and technological innovation, so I naturally thought of Sony and wanted to reach out. We premiered a multi-screen cinema experience to great response at Cannes 2012, and are looking to take the storytelling to the next level with a feature length film, shot for an immersive cinema experience."

In another email and on a lighter note, it is revealed that Kanye will appear in an upcoming Jonathan Levine  (50/50, Warm Bodies) film alongside a star cast of Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The email outlines a scene that will feature West and sounds fun:

"We’ll have a xmas tease for 2015. We have a specific idea to attach to ‘The Interview’ that will crush. Seth, Joe, and [Anthony] Mackie reenacting the scene from BIG on the floor piano at FAO Schwartz with KANYE WEST. It’s awesome.”

Clearly set to be a comedy, we look forward to seeing the usually ernest star showing his lighter side.

This may not be the last we hear from the embarrassing slew of leaked documents from Sony, which also included details of Jennifer Lawrence’s earnings and a comical celebratory email from Channing Tatum following the success of 22 Jump Street.
