One Emirati national is making headlines as the first woman from the UAE to stage a global TED talk. Buro 24/7 Middle East has the details...

Meet Sarah Amiri, the UAE national who is set to make her mark at this year's TEDWomen Talk in November. The Minister of State for Advanced Sciences and Science Lead for the UAE's Mission to Mars, will be the first Emirati to take to the global TED stage alongside a female-dominated line-up. At the 3-day TEDWomen conference, aptly titled Build, Design and Connect, expect to hear from artist and actress Deborah Cox, social entrepreneur Christy Turlington, poet Cleo Wade, architect Deanna Van Buren and actor Justin Baldoni.

Amiri will also share her insights, namely on the Mars mission, gender roles, science and the UAE — similar to her discussion at the Ted x Dubai Salon conference held last November. Watch the Ted Talk below...

Amiri's TEDWomen Talk is set to be live streamed from New Orleans, Louisiana, in the US, on November 2 at Nadi Al Quoz, Alserkal Avenue, DubaiAlso, don't miss the day the first female pilot joined Emirates Airline
