A special exhibition in Paris – starting next month – will see 40 works by Jean Cocteau brought together, and hosted at the Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent Foundation in Paris

Running from January 20 until February 7 2015, the Cocteau exhibit titled Jean Cocteau, une donation américaine – Robert Rubin will see culls of pieces owned by Rubin, an art historian and collector of contemporary art and design.

The exhibit features a portrait of Paul Éluard (pictured below), a collage from 1926, and photographs of Cocteau by Berenice Abbott, Walter Limot and Cecil Beaton, with Bergé penning the preface of the show’s catalogue.

The showcase was last on display in 2003 for a Cocteau retrospective at Paris’ Centre Pompidou. Following the Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent Foundation exhibit, they will move to the Maison Jean Cocteau (the artist’s former home) in Milly-la-Forêt, France.
