Japanese Culture Day at The Archive in Dubai
A celebration of Oriental art and style
Japanese Culture Day will be held at The Archive – a library and cafe that provides a platform to promote active and cultural diversity in the UAE.
The event has been organised by the art platform, Versus, in association with The Archive and the Japanese Consulate in Dubai. The non-profit event will celebrate the rich arts and culture of Japan and will be open to the entire community.
The public will get to enjoy a diverse range of activities, speeches and public performances throughout the day, giving people a further insight on Japanese heritage. The vast array of events include, preparations of Japanese cuisine by chef Ken Ishihata, the art of the historical tea ceremony, a brief intro into Japanese language, learning about Japanese kimono and obi wearing techniques and much more.
The younger audiences will also enjoy participating in an Origami workshop as well as being able to watch Bujunkan Tori, the ninjutsu & samurai martial arts training.
There will be more than 15 activities on the day and all workshops are free of charge and will take place in and around The Archive.
