Hold up, is Meghan Markle writing her own Instagram posts?
All signs point to yes
Earlier this month, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex launched their own Instagram account much to the joy of keen royal followers across the world. Since then the pair has shared a variety of sweet images and heartfelt captions with their followers and it turns out the pair might be more involved with the account than we first thought. Specifically Meghan.
A few eagle-eyes royal reporters have noted that recent captions indicate they’ve been written by the Duchess herself. For example, in the most recent post shared by the couple, there are several words that seemingly indicate Meghan is behind their creation including "diapers" (a phrase not commonly used in the UK) and the spelling of "re-energized" in the American style as opposed to the British.
Chris Ship, the Royal Editor for ITV News, seems particularly convinced of the situation, writing on Twitter, "I think Meghan has written most of those Insta posts. And good for her. Why should we not expect the principals to do things directly and personally." The informal tone of the posts and the direct addressing of the followers have also lead commentators to believe staff are not behind them.
Given that Meghan is known to write her own speeches for her public appearances, her involvement with the account seems highly likely. If this is twenty first century royalty, we're here for it.
