In collaboration with the Young Artist Award
In line with the vision of Her Highness, Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Women Establishment, the Young Artist Award initiative was first launched in 2006 as an annual visual art competition which aims to encourage, recognise and promote emerging artists from the UAE.
And now, Harvey Nichols – Dubai has commissioned four works from the winners of the 2013 awards for its special Ramadan Windows... The winning names are Nada Abu Shakra, who looked at water as an element of purity, Bahar Al Bahar's construction of a geometric formal system which abstracts the periodical event of a month, Sarah Alagroobi who was inspired by an Arabic palindrome, typographic elements undulate across the wall surface. And finally, Tayma Bittard who used a model as a visual representation of two components: time, and the deconstructed body.
