The action-packed film franchise has moved on to Abu Dhabi, as scenes from the seventh instalment are set to resume in the UAE capital

The cast and crew of Fast & Furious 7 has made the decision to move on after Paul Walker’s sudden death last year, planning to carry on with production in Abu Dhabi, a city already quite familiar with car stunts.

After star Vin Diesel announced via his Facebook page that the seventh instalment of the franchise will be released on April 10, 2015 – and posted a photo of Paul Walker and himself from the set – it is confirmed that the setting for the film has moved in full to the UAE capital, despite fans' previous assumptions that Fast and Furious 7 will continue the plot of the last film, Tokyo Drift.

Fellow actor Tyrese Gibson also confirmed that the movie would continue the production in Abu Dhabi and that the death of Paul Walker is one of the reasons why the actors must keep filming.

“At this point, it’s a multicultural film that has (had an impact) around the world, I know he would want us to continue doing this on his behalf,” Gibson said.
