New title – Emirati Expressions: Realised
Celebrating pioneering creative vision
Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority has launched a new book as part of the third edition of its Emirati Expressions series, Emirati Expressions: Realised. The title documents the artistic vision of this year's six Emirati's artists and their vision over the course of their careers.
"Contemporary arts have become a key means of expression in the community, and we are doing our part in maintaining and documenting these expressions," said HE Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, "because they represent memories of space and time, which are working to preserve and deliver to our future generations."
This support of Emirati artists provides them with the right context to showcase their artwork in the belief that art reflects the current society.
Emirati Expressions: Realised gives an in-depth analysis of this year's artists – Abdullah Al Saadi, Ebtisam Abdulaziz, Layla Juma, Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim and Mohammed Kazem. It also offers comprehensive insight to the history of art in the UAE as well illustrating the previous work and emergence of these particular artists. An original poem by Mohamed Al Mazroeui is also included, titled Hamlet Complex.
The book is published by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority and available now, in both English and Arabic. The Emirati Expressions: Realised exhibition runs until January 18.
