Donald Trump is now officially President of the US
Two months after America voted, Donald Trump was officially inaugurated as the President of the US last night in a ceremony held at the Capitol in Washington DC. The billionaire entrepreneur-turned-politician took his Oath of Office following the swearing in of his Vice-President, Mike Pence.
In his inaugural address, Trump outlined his key visions in making America great again, an oft-used rhetoric during his presidential campaign. "We, the citizens of America, are now joined in a great national effort to rebuild our country and to restore its promise for all of our people," said Trump. "Together, we will determine the course of America and the world for years to come. We will face challenges. We will confront hardships. But we will get the job done."
Also in attendance was his wife Melania, dressed in custom-made couture by Ralph Lauren – classic baby blue outfit with matching gloves and pumps, before later changing to a cream Hervé Pierre gown for the Liberty Ball. Elsewhere, entertainment for the inauguration ceremony was provided by country singer Toby Keith as well as rock band 3 Doors Down.
