Visions for an autobiography of Dubai through social media

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, launched his newest project which is open to all of the emirate's residents and visitors yesterday. The idea is to inspire people to share their experiences in Dubai on social networking sites such as Twitter and Instagram and by using hashtag #MyDubai it will collect all of the stories together for people to read.

The concept is that there will then be a collection of real, genuine stories relating to the city - which will in turn become one big digital "living" story via a manifestation of videos and photographs.

His intention is that it's a place for the world to see beyond Dubai's famous architecture & technological advances, becoming a porthole into the heart of the city that outsiders do not experience.

Sheikh Hamdan commented, "In the fabric of Dubai there are more than 2.1 million stories - the individual lives and experiences of all those who call Dubai home," adding that "together we will create the world's first autobiography of a city."
