Movie rumour: Cara Delevingne to play the Joker's girl?
A new film by DC Comics
Famous model Cara Delevingne is no stranger to a film rumour – and here we have another: The cheeky Brit is going to play a female villain in the DC Comics movie Suicide Squad.
A few days ago, Cara took to Instagram to share a picture of her first read-through for her role as Margo Paper Towns for The Fault in our Stars big screen adaptation with the caption: "My 2000th post is to everyone who supported me and helped me get to where I am today!! I am truly blessed and also lucky enough to be doing what I want to do. I could not be happier! Remember to follow your dreams and never give up. I love you all!! #papertowns #firstreadthrough"
The multi-talented 22-year-old has made no secret of her acting ambitions, and now it seems she could have landed her biggest role yet – playing Harley Quinn for DC Comics 2016 film Suicide Squad. Quinn is the lady friend of Batman's arch enemy The Joker, and the rumours source – Latino Review – claims that the rising actress is also in the running for a part in Pirates of the Caribbean 5, set for release in 2017.
A post that Cara made on Instagram three weeks ago (pictured above) certainly adds some weight to the rumour, after she shared an artistic image of her as The Joker in female form with the caption "Dress up time!!"
Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Tom Hardy are also rumoured to be starring in Suicide Squad.
