British royals arrive in Canada for official visit
A royal first for Princess Charlotte
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, more popularly known as Prince William and Kate Middleton, have arrived in Canada for their official eight-day visit. This marks the royal couple's second visit to the former British colony following a similar visit in 2011. Joining them for this year's visit are Prince George and Princess Charlotte — who is on her first official tour.
The Duchess of Cambridge arrived in a blue ensemble by Jenny Packham. Greeting them at Victoria International Airport was Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, who then whisked the couple to the British Columbia Legislature in Victoria for a welcoming ceremony. During their official tour, the British royal family will head west of the country where they will engage in around 30 official visits including Whitehorse's MacBride Museum of Yukon History as well as the new Haida Gwaii General Hospital.
