One of the highest grossing films of Disney's 'Alice in Wonderland' hopes to continue it's success with a sequel planned for 2016, for which Mia Wasikowska has agreed to return

Disney Studio have announced the release date for the second part of Alice in Wonderland. The premiere will take place on May 27 in 2016. We already know that Tim Burton did not take the director's chair, he was replaced by James Bobin (who's work includes The Muppets).

As for the main characters, Mia Wasikowska is ready to play Alice again and Johnny Depp has also confirmed his participation in the project. It is currently unknown if Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, or Michael Sheen – who each played in the original film – will be returning, but we do know that Linda Woolverton is set to write the script.
