Abu Dhabi to host first International Showbiz Expo
Spreading silver screen culture
As released in a statement, the trade show is expected to host more than 2000 industry specialists including distributors, media outlets, studios, cinema organisations, talent scouting agencies, theatre companies, technology enterprises and festivals. The expo will also be host to speakers from Hollywood, Asia and the Middle East who will take part in a convention-style conference.
The chosen time to host such an event couldn't be better as the region is experiencing a boom in the film and entertainment industry, with the UAE alone achieving $145 million in gross revenues from the box office, as well as approximately 12.9 million movie tickets being sold in 2013, beating Lebanon, Kuwait, Iran and Qatar who had a combined total of 16.4 million.
"We want ISBE to be the world's largest and most prestigious Expo for the entertainment world and Abu Dhabi is the ideal place for global entertainment professionals to meet and discuss opportunities for developing the media infrastructure in this region." MCI Middle East managing director, Ajay Bhojwani, stated.
