With a new creative direction but the same musical spirit, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are back to rule the airwaves once more. Buro 24/7 Middle East has the details...

American rock band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have released their new album, which dropped this weekend. Titled The Getaway, the 11th studio album comes five years after their last offering and this time, they've employed the services of master producer, Danger Mouse.

Lead vocalist Anthony Kiedis

While the band's signature sound remains, along with the depth of lyrics, the melodies have taken a distinctly mellowed tempo turn. This was showcased by several tracks that are part of an early release, which came prior to the album's official launch. On "Dark Necessities", which is directed by Olivia Wilde, Frontman Anthony Kiedis sings about, "the beauty of our dark side and how much creativity, growth and light actually come out of those difficult struggles that we have."

One of the undoubted surprises of the new album has to be the unlikely appearance of Elton John on the song "Sick Love". "The song that he plays on is a song that we were working on for a while before we started recording," said guitarist, Josh Klinghoffer, "and it just sounded a little bit to us like Elton was involved somehow, so we thought we should just invite him down."
