One Syrian-American artist speaks out about the hijab in a hip-hop video saying, "covered up or not don’t ever take us for granted". Watch the must-see music video now...

New York-based poet and hip-hop artist Mona Haydar has just released a music video for her debut single "Hijabi". The video, shot while Haydar was eight months pregnant, sees the Syrian-American and her crew rapping about the stereotypes associated with the Muslim headscarf and how that misconception must change.

"Make a feminist planet, women haters get banished, covered up or not don't ever take us for granted," sings Haydar, after rapping: "All around the world, love women every shading, power run deep, so even if you hate it, I still wrap my hijab."
