Music streaming giant – Spotify – launches a new tool aimed at the cool music hunters, a shrewd marketing tool that is bound to excite its millions of users. Find out more here...

Spotify has cleverly tapped into peoples need to be both 'first' and 'cool' – launching the 'Found Them First' tool. The new incentive means that music snobs can now proudly display the musicians that they were streaming way before anyone else, and before they became 'mainstream' (see: 'not cool').

It's a clever marketing tool, which will encourage users to spread the Spotify word. The new feature works by scanning user's history and comparing it to the history of other users to decipher whether they were an 'early listener' of breakout artists. A 'breakout artist' is defined as a musician or band with other 20 million streams and a growth rate of at least 2,000 percent between January 2013 and June this year.
