"It just went 'Boom' and it was like, no longer my song..." Pharrell Williams discusses the power of his track, 'Happy' on Oprah

The singer and producer sat down with the American interviewing queen to chat about his recent success on Oprah Prime yesterday, and they discussed the hugely rapid success of his single Happy, which has gone to number one in countries across the globe...

During the interview, after Pharrell described the experience as "It just went 'Boom' and it was like, no longer my song..." Oprah then played a video montage of fan-made clips, inspired by the song.

Clearly overcome, Pharrell started crying, with Oprah exclaiming, "It makes me cry too!" He answered, "Why am I crying on Oprah?"

Pharrell went on to say, "It's overwhelming because I love what I do and I just appreciate the fact that people have believed in me for so long that I could make it to this point."

Assuring him that she 'got it', the ever prepared Oprah thankfully had the tissues to hand, assuring, "It just allows that energy to float from heart to heart and that's what happens when you see it."
