Mick Jagger writes letter about L'Wren Scott
A poignant online message
In a short and emotional letter via his website, just one day after she was found dead of an apparent suicide in her New York City apartment, Mick Jagger has written about his late girlfriend, L'Wren Scott.
"I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way," Jagger wrote about 49-year-old Scott in his message. "We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves."
A couple for over a decade, Jagger and Scott often attended fashion shows and red-carpet events together. Scott launched her own fashion line in 2006, and she most recently launched a collection for Banana Republic last year, and a cosmetics line with Bobbi Brown. "She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me. I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received," Jagger continued in his online letter.
He signed off with, "I will never forget her, Mick."
The Rolling Stones postponed the remainder of its 14 On Fire tour stops in Australia and New Zealand following Scott's death. A message on RollingStones.com said the group is "deeply sorry and disappointed" about the postponements, adding that shows will be rescheduled.
