MTV VMAs 2015: Kanye West announces that he is running for President in 2020

“I’m not a politician bro”

Kanye West declares his intention to become commander-in-chief of the United States of America during his Video Vanguard acceptance speech at last night’s MTV VMA’s. And Kim’s already planning her inauguration wardrobe…

We have known, ever since it was announced that Kanye West would be awarded the Video Vanguard award, from a “gracious” Taylor Swift at this year’s MTV VMA’s, that the ensuing acceptance speech would produce some more special Kanye moments, but we weren’t prepared for a declaration of his candidacy for president in 2020.

“Yes…I have decided in 2020 to run for president...”

...Proclaimed West at the end of his ten-minute address to the whooping crowd, which took several left turns down memory lane when re reminisced about that moment with Taylor, and we think he expressed regret at his decision to snatch the award from her hands, but he swiftly turned the focus back to real bad-guys: “Do you know how many times MTV ran that footage of me and Taylor because it got them more ratings?”

He declared early on in his speech: “I’m not a politician bro” (an unusual way to lead into the announcement of a presidential campaign) and gave us frequent reminders to “listen to the kids bro” during his address. We’re not entirely sure what it all means but we have learned that he “just wanted people to like him more” and he “still don’t understand award shows.”

All we know is, election season 2020 is going to be totally unmissable...
