It was all about the girls when it came to MTV's EMA 2014 ceremony performances last night, as the likes of Ariana Grande and Alicia Keys stormed the stage in Glasgow's SSE Hydro Arena, while One Direction and Ozzy Osbourne took home the prizes

One Direction were this year's big winners at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2014 held in Glasgow last night, with three prizes for best live, best pop and biggest fans categories, however were beaten to worldwide act by China's Bibi Zhou. The band unfortunately failed to make the event in person, and accepted their awards on a pre-recorded video, minus one member.

Other winners included host Nicki Minaj who won best hip-hop, plus Katy Perry, 5 Seconds of Summer and Ariana Grande who picked up two awards each, with the latter performing her song Break Free from a flying pod. "I've been learning so much about the country and culture... I've pretty much become Scottish," she told the crowd.
