Chicago's Museum of of Contemporary Art to host David Bowie Retrospective
'David Bowie Is'
The retrospective, David Bowie Is, will open on September 23 and is the pop icon's first exhibition. The space at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago (MCA) will feature over 400 objects including handwritten lyrics, photography, set designs, costumes, album art, rare performance material, and other memorabilia spanning Bowie's iconic life and career.
Key pieces that will be on display range from the famous 1962 Ziggy Stardust bodysuits, to Bowie's 60 other sparkling stage costumes.
According to MCA Chicago's website, the exhibit will also include "Multimedia installations incorporating advanced sound technology produced by Sennheiser, original animations, continuous audio accompaniment, and video installations," so that you can hear Bowie's music like never before.
The MCA Chicago is currently the only planned US venue for the retrospective, and is set to run from September 23, 2014 to January 4, 2015.
