Australian band Cut Copy release the world's first 3D printed music video for their new single 'We Are Explorers'

The electro-indie quartet, Cut Copy, has teamed up with Tokyo and New York-based creatives Masa Kawamura, Qanta Shimizu and Aramique Krauthamer — drawing on their stop-motion animation experiences — to help create the 3D storytelling music video for We Are Explorers.

The 4 minute clip for the dance-synth single from Cut Copy's 2013 album Free Your Mind, uses 3D printing to create a pair of luminescent figures that embark on an adventure through the dark streets of Los Angeles.

To encourage and engage fans on the new video concept, Cut Copy has distributed a bundle via BitTorrent that contains, their music, the video and all the 3D printinging files, allowing fans to create their own miniature avatars and share their stories online.
