Coachella is officially cancelled

The music and arts festival won't go ahead as scheduled after all...

Coachella is the latest event to be cancelled due to concerns over the coronavirus outbreak. The highly-anticipated music festival was originally set to take place in April before being postponed to October. However now, it seems like the rescheduled event won’t be taking place at all in 2020.

Billboard reported that “Goldenvoice (the company behind Coachella) will reschedule events this year, including Indio’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival set for the second and third weekends of October. This likely means Stagecoach 2020 will not happen either.”

Coachella’s parent company, Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) are also debating if Coachella’s return will be in a limited-capacity formula in April 2021 or may hold out for a full-fledged experience for October 2021.

“It is clear now that live events with fans will not resume for many months and likely not until sometime in 2021,” AEG CEO Dan Beckerman said.

We’ll just have to wait for more details. Stay tuned!
