Beyoncé, Jay Z, and Timbaland are being sued
For 'Drunk In Love' mishap...
Mitsou (aka. Monika Miczura Juhasz) is suing Beyoncé, claiming that her song Drunk In Love features an unlicensed sample and manipulated vocals from her 1995 rendition of a traditional Roma song.
The sample is said to feature at the very beginning of Beyoncé's track, and Mitsou wants it to be pulled from rotation until her vocals are removed. The lawsuit names both Mrs. Carter, her husband Jay Z (who also features on the track) and producer Timbaland.
This marks the second lawsuit that Jay Z has faced recently, after he successfully defended a case against him that said he stole a single syllable – the word 'Oh!' – from Hook and Sling Part I by Eddie Bo. Bo's unsuccessful lawsuit claimed that the 'Oh!' was stolen by Jay Z and used in Run This Town. The judge ruled in Mr. Beyoncé's favour, saying: "There is nothing inherently or especially important about 'oh'."
