Sia explains why she doesn't show her face
For new Interview magazine feature
Sia Furler – or simply 'Sia', as she is most well-known – stars on the cover of Interview magazine April 2015. Photographed by Gregory Harris and styled by Elin Svahn, the talented singer/songwriter poses in new season Junya Watanabe, Alexander McQueen, Viktor & Rolf Couture and Alexander Wang.
Known for her unusual performances and for concealing her face in a myriad of creative ways, Sia manages to continue the trend for the Interview shoot, rocking a series of oversized wigs that hide her features.
Marking only the fourth interview she has ever done, Sia opens up to the publication about her need for privacy, saying:
"People say, 'Enough of this where she doesn't show her face'...I'm trying to do this differently, for serenity," adding: "And it's a fun game for me as well. I have nothing to lose. But of course I want to be loved. So when people say, 'Show your face, you're not ugly.' I want to say, 'I know. I'm not doing it because I think I'm ugly; I'm trying to have some control over my image. And I'm allowed to maintain some modicum of privacy."
