Qatar's Sheikha Al-Mayassa features in the Time 100 list

One of the 41 women who made the acclaimed list this year

Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, chairperson of the Qatar Museums Authority and sister of the country's Emir, has just been named as one of the world’s most influential people by Time Magazine

This year, musician Beyoncé graced the cover of Time magazine's annual ranking which also included US President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Vladimir Putin, Pope Francis and Miley Cyrus.

Sheikha Al-Mayassa who's included in the exclusive list of some of the world's most influential people, has long been considered a prominent figure in the art world and in 2012, she made her world-debut on Forbes' Most Powerful Women list.

She is one of 41 women who made the list this year which set a new record for the number of females making the Time 100 list. Last year the Sheikha was also named the new biggest player in the international art scene, spending $1 billion on artworks per year.
