Tim Burton confirms 'Beetlejuice' sequel

27 years later after the release of the original

This week, Tim Burton has revealed that he will soon be directing the sequel to his 1988 comedy-horror film 'Beetlejuice'

Whilst doing an interview with MTV, the American director spoke enthusiastically about the prospect of returning to the director’s chair for Beetlejuice 2.  The new film will also see the return of Winona Ryder in the role of heroine Lydia Deetz, “Oh yeah, yeah yeah yeah,” Burton said of Ryder’s return.

With still no production plans for Beetlejuice 2 in place, it could be a while before we see the final product, as Tim Burton’s schedule appears pretty full. The director is currently working on an adaptation of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and also Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass planned for 2016.
