New York screening of 'The Fifth Estate'
Anna Wintour, Benedict Cumberbatch, Freida Pinto and others
Biographical drama The Fifth Estate directed by Bill Condon starring Benedict Cumberbatch – who takes the lead role of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange – was first shown at the beginning of September at the 38th Toronto International Film Festival. Julian Assange himself spoke out in an official statement, accusing the creators of the picture of 'character assasination'.
Despite Assange's reservations, the controversial film has attracted a lot of attention and is gaining praise within the industry. The night prior to the release of the movie in the United States, the New York Marlton Hotel hosted a private screening of the picture. Anna Wintour and Freida Pinto were amongst the high profile guests.
