The Producers Guild of America Awards in Los Angeles
'Birdman', 'Life Itself', 'The Lego Movie' among the 2015 winners
As award season continues, the race is beginning to heat up in the lead towards the Oscars as the red carpet was rolled out last night for the Producers Guild of America Awards (PGA) in the City of Angels.
The star-studded guest-list for the evening included Jennifer Lawrence (who wore Prada), Brad Pitt, Keira Knightley and more, as they watched dark comedy Birdman starring Micheal Keaton take home the big award of the night – the PGA Darryl F. Zanuck Award for best movie – beating other candidates Boyhood, Foxcatcher, Gone Girl, Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game, Nightcrawler, The Theory of Everything and Whiplash.
The Lego Movie also took the PGA’s top animated movie award — nine days after it was overlooked in this year's Oscar nominations. While Life Itself, the biographical film about the late Roger Ebert, won the PGA documentary award.
On the television front, the top awards went to the final season of AMC's Breaking Bad, Netflix's Orange is the New Black and FX's Fargo.
