First look: Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard in new 'Macbeth' film
The latest adaptation of William Shakespeare's drama
The new images of Justin Kurzel's directed version of the famous Shakespeare play, see Michael Fassbender in the lead role of Macbeth and Marion Cotillard as Lady Macbeth.
In an interview, Fassbender discussed the inner anger his character experiences over the course of the movie, "He's suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. It makes total sense, when you think about it. Justin set the seed of the idea in my head," adding that, "He's having these hallucinations, and he needs to return to the violence to find some sort of clarity, or peace."
The drama film, which is set for release in early 2015, will retain the original text's setting which takes place in war-torn 11th-century Scotland.
Producer Iain Canning stated that all the cast have even adopted Scottish accents for the film, apart from Cotillard, who will still speak in her natural French accent.
