Kristin Scott Thoms opens to rave reviews in Peter Morgan's 'The Audience' in London's West End. Take a look at the regal actress as Queen Elizabeth II with her cast of Prime Ministers...

The West End revival of Peter Morgan's The Audience at London's Apollo theatre couldn't be more timely; a new royal princess has just been born and the UK is in the midst of a historically close general election. Kristin Scott Thomas plays the current monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, in this speculative play that imagines the famously private closed-door conversations that take place weekly between the Queen and the Prime Minister. 

The play opened to a preview run earlier this week and is receiving rave reviews. Scott-Thomas, has taken the royal baton from Dame Helen Mirren who originally played the lead role in 2013, and is perfectly regal and subtly comic in her role.
