Hilary Duff says conversations are happening about a Lizzie McGuire revival
Best. News. Ever.
This year has been a nostalgic one for pop culture. From the reboot of classics like Veronica Mars and Sabrina The Teenage Witch to remakes of classic movies like Life Size and Legally Blonde and Ariana Grande’s most recent film clip, it would appear we’re all looking back to our childhood and teen years for inspiration.
So imagine our utter delight when we read that Lizzie McGuire might be making a comeback. The early 2000s Disney Channel show (and arguably the OG Bitmoji creator) was a cult favourite amongst young girls and catapulted Hilary Duff to fame. Overnight, Duff, who is currently one of the leads in Younger, told Entertainment Tonight, “There’s been some conversations. It’s definitely not a go. I don’t want to get everyone wild talking about it.”
And yet, we’re officially sold and will be devastated if it doesn’t go ahead.
Of the show’s resonance, the actress (who recently welcomed her first daughter, Banks), explains, “I think she was so important to girls at an important time in their life. If she could be important to them again at this age, I think that would be amazing.”
This truly is what dreams are made of.
