Here's who will play Ariel in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid
She's officially part of that world
If you thought The Lion King remake was going to be the highlight of the year, Disney is also bringing back another one of its classic films. This time, however, it will be on stage.
The Little Mermaid will turn 30 this year (*insert gasping emoji*) and to celebrate, a two-day live production is being held at the Hollywood Bowl in LA. There's been plenty of speculation as to who would get the role of Princess Ariel — with Lindsay Lohan actively campaigning to be cast as the famous redhead — however the part has been officially given to former Glee actress Lea Michele.
Michelle will be joined by The O.C's Peter Gallagher as King Triton, Harvey Fierstein as Ursula, Ken Page as Sebastian and Lea Gallo as Prince Eric. Together, they'll make their way through the movie's soundtrack performing classics like Under The Sea and Kiss The Girl.
The performance will take place on May 17 and 18 and according to People will include "animated living scenery".
