As Netflix debuts in the Middle East Buro 24/7 Middle East shares this weekend's must-see shows, including fashion must-watch Iris...

At the CES 2016 technology show in Las Vegas last week, Netflix announced that it has gone live in the UAE, along with 130 other countries around the world. The launch has TV and film lovers in the country buzzing despite the fact that show listings are currently limited, with popular shows like House of Cards and Orange Is The New Black being left out.

Fortunately, this is more a case of later rather than never as Netflix mentioned that more programmes would be made available as the roll out continues. "Today is day one for Netflix in the Middle East," said the company's Vice President for Communications, Joris Evers after the launch announcement. "We will be learning from our new members starting now and will be growing our offering significantly."

Meanwhile, there are still plenty of shows to choose from, with new releases added in frequently. Buro 24/7 Middle East recommends three of the new releases on Netflix UAE for your home entertainment this weekend. These include Iris, Keith Richards: Under the Influence and Back in Time.

Iris focuses on fashion legend Iris Apfel, who at 93 is still at the top of her game, choosing dresses, advising models and haggling with buyers. For rock'n'roll fans, Keith Richards: Under the Influence gives you unparalleled access to discover the people and sounds that inspired the music legend, from his childhood to today. Meanwhile, Back in Time is filmmaker Jason Aron's attempt to show why Back to the Future is the movie that has most inspired the generations.

Netflix has also released the first ever trailer for its highly anticipated original series The Crown a biography of the British royal family, starring Claire Foy and John Lithgow. Here's  a peek at the trailer below...
