Christian Bale has reportedly backed out of Steve Jobs biopic
Not the man for the job?
Just when we thought there was at least one fact surrounding rumour mill that is the Steve Jobs biopic – that Christian Bale would take the lead – a spanner has been thrown in the works, after a new report states that the 40-year-old actor has decided against playing the legendary late Apple CEO in the upcoming film.
Bale is known for playing challenging characters, so the news of his back out has come as a surprise to many, including director Danny Boyle of Slumdog Millionaire and writer Aaron Sorkin of The Social Network, and is said to now be delaying the production and filming of the anticipated film.
This isn't the first hurdle the movie has faced – earlier this year, Leonardo DiCaprio also removed himself from the cast to concentrate on his new duties as a UN ambassador.
Now Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Bradley Cooper are said to be being considered for the coveted role as Boyle begins the search for a new lead.
