The UAE clinches another movie spot as the Burj Khalifa returns to the silver screen after Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Buro 24/7 Middle East has the first look...

The world's tallest building, Dubai's Burj Khalifa, is returning to the movie theatres. Seen in the latest trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence, which aired for the first time during the Superbowl 50, the iconic tower's 10-second appearance sees it become the victim of the alien invasion. Crashing violently into the River Thames in London, the snippet suggests that the magnitude of destruction is caused by the aliens. Thankfully, this was all CGI. While the new movie is void of Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman both return, with Liam Hemsworth playing a major role in the film too.

This is the latest in a slate of recent appearances by the UAE in Hollywood, beginning with Star Wars: The Force Awakens and then recently in the new trailer for Star Trek Beyond.

Independence Day: Resurgence is set for release June 24, 2016.
