Angelina Jolie to direct new elephant poaching tale

Titled 'Africa'

The newlywed actress has just found her next movie to direct, signing on to work for 'Africa', an epic story for David Ellison’s Skydance Productions

Written by Oscar winner Eric Roth (Forrest Gump), the new film is based on paleo-archaeologist Richard Leakey's battle with ivory poachers in Kenya that threatened the existence of the elephant population in Africa during the 1980s.

Angelina Jolie who has signed up to direct Africa explained that the film is a about "a man drawn into the violent conflict with elephant poachers, who emerged with a deeper understanding of man's footprint and a profound sense of responsibility for the world around him."

Jolie will soon start the filmmaking process once she wraps up current acting gig, By The Sea, where she stars opposite her husband Brad Pitt.
