American R&B singer Alicia Keys has released a new film to mark World Refugee Day. Titled Let Me In, the short movie was directed by Jonathan Olinger and is set in Los Angeles, where an unexpected military conflict forces Keys and her two children from their home, onto a boat and heading towards Mexico, effectively becoming refugees. Here the Mexican Border Patrol help, welcome and assure their safety in their new home.

The film cleverly depicts the real-life struggles of refugees in the Middle East, as they make their way towards Europe. A struggle, which has resulted in a refugee problem, that is not only at its worst today, but one that sees children accounting for more than half of the number of displaced people.

Also featured in the film is "Hallelujah", a single from Keys' upcoming sixth studio album, which is set to be released later in the summer.
