Cannes 2015: The 22nd annual amfAR Cinema Against Aids Gala
Sienna Miller, Kendall Jenner, Jake Gyllenhaal and more
Of the many prestigious, exclusive and glamorous events that pack the Cannes Film Festival calendar the 22nd annual amfAR Cinema Against Aids Gala, to benefit amfAR, the foundation for AIDS Research, which took place last night, was somewhat of a crescendo.
One gets the feeling that A-list festival attendees had been preserving their most prized couture looks for this night, and the red carpet was awash with one of a kind gowns. Kendall Jenner wore Calvin Klein and joined her pals Jourdan Dunn and Joan Smalls, in beautiful floating gowns. Marion Cotillard, who later presented at the gala with Macbeth co-star Michael Fassbender, wore a bright silk green column gown and Sienna Miller shimmered in a metallic dress.
An estimated €30 million was raised on the night, thanks in most part to the lavish auction, which is so often the highlight of this dinner. The prize lot was the €12 million Jeff Koons creation entitled, Coloring Book, which was snapped up by Russian billionaire, Leonard Blavatnik. Others included Fernando Botero's Donna su Cavallo, which grabbed €2 million and Picasso's L'Erreinte going for €700,000 among others. One lot, a prized Banksy entitled Copper On Cardboard, which went for a cool €1 million, was donated by Leonardo DiCaprio.
Other stunning stars in attendance included; Paris Hilton, Sarah Ferguson, Diane Kruger, Georgina Chapman and Gigi Hadid.
