
2016 Dubai International Film Festival: Red carpet arrivals

The 2016 Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) opened last night at the Madinat Arena with a red carpet event that included both regional and international celebrities. The 13th edition welcomed Hollywood superstars Tyrese Gibson and Olga Kurylenko while fellow Tinseltown actor Samuel L. Jackson was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. High-profile regional personalities that attended the gala night include Bollywood legend Rekha as well as Oscar and Grammy-award winning composer Gabriel Yared, who received the Indian Lifetime Achievement Award and Arab Lifetime Achievement Award respectively.

The festival opened with the John Madden-directed movie Miss Sloane which stars Jessica Chastain and will close with the highly anticipated action blockbuster Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
