In a moment that will surely go down in history, Patricia Arquette used her Oscars 2015 acceptance speech for 'Best Supporting Actress' to advocate women's rights. The powerful call sent Meryl Streep and Jennifer Lopez into a frenzy, pointing, clapping and cheering their fellow actress on.
After thanking industry insiders, her Boyhood cast co-stars and director as well as her family, Patricia Arquette used the stage to spotlight equal women's rights. Telling the audience:
"To every woman who gave birth, to every tax payer and citizen of this nation: We have fought for everybody else's equal rights. It's our time to have wage equality rights and equal rights for women in the United States of America!"
