If there ever was a month where culture truly takes centrestage in the region, November is it. Horological aficionados, culinary connoisseurs and art lovers all have a multitude of their favourite activities happening this month from the annual Abu Dhabi Art exhibition to the returning Salon des Grandes Complications. With such a wide array of events, here are the ones you absolutely cannot miss...
Salon des Grandes Complications
The first of the month's horological feast, Salon des Grandes Complications will bring together the region's watch aficionados and the industry's most respected minds, with iconic brands such as A. Lange & Söhne, Louis Moinet, Roger Dubuis and Vacheron Constantin already confirmed as participants. Apart from wristwatches, this year Salon des Grandes Complications will also showcase pendulum clocks including a Dhs1 million piece by renowned clockmakers Erwin Sattler and William Wagner.
Salon des Grandes Complications will run from November 7-10 at DIFC.
Dubai Watch Week
The second edition of Dubai Watch Week sees more high-profile industry personalities – including François-Henry Bennahmias, CEO of Audemars Piguet and Alain Zimmerman, CEO of Baume & Mercier – share their insights in a series of talks, panels and discussions. "Last year, our Horology Forum saw over 30 global watch experts speak across 16 different panels and we are delighted to welcome a number of returning speakers to Dubai for this year's edition," said Melika Yazdjerdi, Director of Dubai Watch Week. "We are also pleased to expand our forum topics to include a range of subjects from historical timekeeping to more controversial, hotly debated topics of recent years: Smart Watches, Digital Curators and The Power of Influence.
Dubai Watch Week will run from November 15-19 at DIFC and The Dubai Mall.
Italian Cuisine World Summit
If you love your Italian food, then the UAE is certainly the place to be this month as 34 of the world's finest Italian chefs take over Dubai and Abu Dhabi. With 37 Michelin stars between them, from Heinz Beck and Grazia Soncini to Martin Obermarzoner and Vincenzo Guarino, food aficionados can expect to gain inside knowledge to the tips and tricks of fine Italian cuisine. Adding a bit of competitive edge, the summit will also hold several competitions including the Risotto Contest and the Pizza of the Future.

A World Journey: Four Chefs from Four Corners
Armani Hotel Dubai will host three chefs from its famed Armani Ristorante worldwide to offer an exclusive gastronomic feast. Joining Chef Alessandro Salvatico from the Dubai kitchen are chefs Filippo Gozzoli from Milan, Francesco Mazzi from Tokyo and Michele Brogioni from New York. Together, they will create a seasonal culinary adventure using a variety of ingredients including truffle, chestnuts, pumpkin and gold.

Abu Dhabi Art
Celebrating the buzzing arts scene in the capital, the quintessential arts event brings another round of must-see artworks by emerging artists. The top galleries from around the world gather to showcase masterpieces in every form of discipline from contemporary to abstract as well as from paintings to installations. Plus, with a line-up that also includes diverse art programmes, there's the opportunity to interact and engage with the people who are setting the arts trends in the region and beyond.

Yasalam during Formula 1 weekend
The region's biggest international sporting event – the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix – is back for another season and with the excitement on track, comes the music extravaganza that is Yasalam, now in its eighth year. International superstar Rihanna is set to perform in the UAE for a third time while dance music pioneers The Chemical Brothers are also slated to take the stage. But it's not just the international acts that are causing a buzz as Nancy Ajram is also penned in for a concert at Beats on the Beach alongside Sean Paul.
