Buro 24/7 Middle East's culture guide: April '17
Charles Kalpakian, Bahrain GP, Brunello
In April, Dubai's cultural scene shares the spotlight with neighbouring cities and countries from Abu Dhabi to Beirut and Bahrain. It's also a varied mix of experiences that will satisfy all types of connoisseurs and aficionados, be it in the field of arts, motorsport or gastronomy. Buro 24/7 Middle East rounds up the places to be and be seen this month...
6 Degrees of Separation design exhibition
Explore the well-known theory of six degrees of separation with Lebanese designer Charles Kalpakian as he interprets the concept through geometry, mirrors, tables and consoles. Marking his first ever exhibition in his native country, Kalpakian draws similarities between the spaces, his designed pieces and the realities of our own lives, resulting in a masterful mix of the tangible with the conceptual.
6 Degrees of Separation opens on April 11 at the Joy Mardini Design Gallery in Beirut.
Abu Dhabi's newest art festival is designed to be the perfect platform for art fans looking to transition into bona fide art collectors. Six regional and international galleries – Salwa Zeidan, Cuadro Fine Arts Gallery, El Marsa, Athr, Hafez Gallery and Galleria Continua – will be showcasing a host of artworks for sale, and just as importantly, the inaugural event will also provide a focal point for the arts community to interact and share concepts through a series of talks, performances, workshops and film screenings.
Galleries Week will run from April 12-19 at Warehouse421.

Inspired by the real life events of online retailer-turned fashion mogul Sophia Amoruso, Girl Boss stars Britt Robertson in the lead role. Meanwhile, Casting JonBenét tells the story of the murder of a six-year-old pageant queen and the repercussions felt by the town after that tragedy.
Girl Boss and Casting JonBenét will premiere on April 21 and 28 respectively.
