A year of great TV
To top off an incredible 2013 in TV history - Buro 24/7 Middle East rounds up our top 5 series of the year. From Breaking Bad's finest season yet in its six year run, to the escapades of our favourite Don Draper in Mad Man, and the dramatic stories of Prohibition America in Boardwalk Empire - these shows are sure to have anyone glued to the TV for hours, if not days...
Breaking Bad - AMC
One of AMC's biggest hits yet, Breaking Bad has made its place in the top series of the year. An American crime drama, set in Albuquerque, New Mexico - the series tells the story of Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher turned criminal mogul. The ultra dramatic and greatly shot series has cemented its place as one of the best drama series of 2013.
Mad Men - AMC
Another AMC winner, Mad Men is our top second best show of 2013. The period drama - set in the 1960's - follows Don Draper, the creative director at an advertising agency, and the people around him, both in and out of the office. Depicting the changing moods and social mood of the USA in the 1960's, Mad Men is one to watch - if you haven't already.
Sons of Anarchy - FOX
In third place comes FOX's Sons of Anarchy, an addictive series to say the least. The drama shows the lives of a close knit outlaw motorcycle club operating in California. Jax is the vice president of the club, and drama arouses when he begins questioning the club and himself. If you're into action and motorcycles - this is one to watch.
Boardwalk Empire - HBO
HBO's Boardwalk Empire comes in at number 4. Another period piece, the drama focuses on Enoch "Nucky" Thompson, a political figure controlling Atlantic City during the prohibition era of the 1920's and 30's. If you are an American history enthusiast, this show will have you stuck to the TV.
Justified - FOX
In 5th place is another Fox series, Justified. The American series is based on a deputy US Marshal, Raylan Givens - a tough federal lawman - who enforces his own brand of justice in his hometown of Kentucky. Packed with action and drama we recommend this series to anyone who enjoys crime shows.
