Book of the week: Hockney
Supersized pop art
Taschen is set to launch a new arts book titled Hockney. The large tome is a showcase of the stunning works by British artist David Hockney, renowned for promoting the pop art movement in the '60s. With an oeuvre from over six decades, the book also charts Hockney's artistic evolution from his time as a young man in London and Los Angeles up until the modern age when he dabbled in drawings on the iPad. "I don't tend to live in the past," said Hockney. "Working on this book, I see quite how much I have done."
Hockney is set for release in November and will be available in various exclusive editions, including 9,000 signed limited editor's collection books as well as four art editions, all of which come with a Marc Newson bookstand. Hockney is priced at Dhs7,825 and is available for pre-order now on taschen.com. Meanwhile, take a look inside the photography book Julius Shulman.
