Book of the week: Entryways of Milan
The essence of Milanese design
Taschen is set to launch a new design book titled Entryways of Milan. Curated by Karl Kolbitz, the book showcases 144 of Milan's best entrance halls, set within historic buildings that were built from 1920 to 1970. Highlights of the book include works by some of the city's famed designers including Giovanni Muzio, Gio Ponti, Piero Portaluppi and Luigi Caccia Dominioni, all of whom demonstrate a wide gamut of influence within the Italian modernist era. Expect to see bright colours, murals, shapes as well as a juxtaposition of fine materials.
